Tarak Mehta The eminent humorist and playwright, best known for his Guajarati column ‘Duniya Ne Undha Chasma’ who died recently. His columns, which first appeared in Gujarati weekly magazine “Chitralekha” in 1971 were adapted into a television serial “Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma” in 2008, making him a household name.

Abraham Lincoln He was voted the best President of US in a survey of US presidents conducted by C-SPAN recently. The list, compiled by 91 historians, was the third such survey. Presidents were rated on a scale of 1-10 on ten attributes, including crisis leadership, economic management and vision. Ba rack Obama was ranked as the 12th best President in the survey

Shurhozelie LiezietsuHe took oath as the new chief minister of Nagaland heading a 12-member Democratic Alliance of Nagaland ministry. Liezietsu, who succeeded T R Zeliang, was administered oath of office and secrecy by Governor P B Acharya at a function in Raj Bhavan in Kohima recently. Liezietsu is not a member of the Nagaland Legislative assembly and he will have to get elected within six months from taking office

Rajiv Kumar, Ashok Gulati and Manish SabarwalThey were recently nominated as directors on the board of Reserve Bank of India for a period of four years with effect from 9th February, 2017. Ashok Gulati is an agricultural economist and former chairman of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices. Manish Sabarwal is the co founder and chairman of Team Lease Services Private and also co-founder at Hewitt Outsourcing services India. Rajiv Kumar is an economist and senior fellow at Centre for Policy research and the author of several books.

Iris Mittenaere of FranceShe was adjudged the Miss Universe pageant 2016.
