The Google Satellite (PSLV – 34) Launch on June 22nd 2016

Two among the 19 small satellites being launched on June 22 from United States. One of them, Sky Sat Gen1-1, is a small, Earth-imaging satellite weighing about 110 kg and it has been designed and built by Terra Bella, a Google firm based out of Mountain View, California
in the Unite States.
The second one, the Planet Labs Dove Satellites (FLock-2P) are Earth-imaging satellites. A total of 12 Dove Satellites weighing 4.7kg each are being carried in this mission inside three Quad Pack dispensers. SATHYABAMA SAT which is one among the two satellites of Indian Academic Institutes, has been developed by the S a t h y a b a m a University, Chennai.
The nano satellite’s mission objectives are to collect data on greenhouse gases. The SWAYAM Satellite, from College of Engineering, Pune will provide point-to – point messaging services for the HAM radio Community
THE PAYLOAD
  • As many as 20 satellites, including our own Cartosat-2 series. 17 satellites belonging to other nation. Two are of Sathyabhama University and College of Engineering, Pune.
  • The weight of the Cartosat-2 series satellite. It will be used for urban and rural mapping, coastal land use and regulation. The Total weight of satellite is 727.5 Kg
  • The (PSLV-C34) will take off on its 36th flight on June 22, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Shar, Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
